New year and 1st week of Jan always spells doom at box office barring few exception. Today couple of Bollywood and Hollywood releases hit the screens. All new releases struggled and Blockbuster ''Dhoom 3'' continued to dominate big time.

Today couple of Bollywood and Hollywood releases hit the screens. All new releases struggled and Blockbuster ''Dhoom 3'' continued to dominate big time. ''Mr Joe B. Carvalho'' was mid size release across 1000 screens and film was hit by bad reviews. Film only managed to grow from 10% to 15-18% throughout the day. Going by the early estimate, film should collect 85 lakhs nett on day one which is 30% lower than what would had been the ideal figure.  Other release ''Sholay'' 3D was released across approx 850 screens and grew considerably from evening onwards. Film should grow over weekend and might beat other new releases. As per early estimates, film should collect close to 1.35 - 1.45 cr nett and that will be just average total. Out of Hollywood releases, ''The Wolf Of Wall Street'' attracted niche audience and scored over ''The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty''. But the real show stealer was once again ''Dhoom 3'' which continues to capture imagination of audience.
