Gunday has taken a bumper opening across North and central India however it is a little slow in Mumbai and Western India.It is set to have opening day collection of more than 10 crores.
Overall opening is at 60-65% giving a huge boost to stardom of Ranveer singh whose last Ram Leela was a 100 crore movie.
Trade expectation is for the movie to beat or match Ram Leela's opening it will be definitely the second best opening of 2014.
It is excellent overall in Bengal and at some places it is even at Dhoom 3 Levels also due to the fact that movie is based there.
It is good in Delhi/NCR and rest of North and Central India
It is not as wide a release as Jai Ho so it will end lower in overall collections but on opening level it has opened better than Jai Ho on lower screens
It has also lost some shows in premium screens to Hasee Toh Phasee ( those having the highest ticket prices) which will effect it marginally.
